The Warren U14 Girls have had an incredible season. Winning the league unbeaten with a record of P14 W12 D2 and playing some incredible football in that time they were worthy winners. The girls also reached a cup final in that time too, despite coming up short they have so much to be proud of. Here’s to next year and life in Division 1, well done girls!
The Warren U17s 2nd cup final was in the Selkent Shield against South Darenth. We won 3 2.
Started the game with out our goalkeeper and with 3 of our midfielders out injured.
We spoke alot before the game about South Darenth only threat being from set pieces, however we still conceded a silly free kick out wide allowing them to deliver a ball into our box. They scored to go 1 0 up.
Toby Robertson-Vella then hit a half volley from 30yards which looped over there keepers head to bring us back level.
Just before the break Liam Wills flicked a nice ball through which fell to Luke Reardon who never misses 1 on 1. Giving us a 2 1 lead at half time.
South Darenth came out strong in the 2nd half getting a goal after 30 seconds.
A competitive 2nd half from both teams we began to look tired in the midfield. With no fit midfielders on the bench Toby Daniels stepped in as a normal Central Defender to play in the role. With 2 minutes to go the ball landed at his feet and he slipped a perfectly timed ball through to Luke Reardon he slotted it right in the corner to seal the game.
Man Of The Match Luke Reardon
The Warren U17s/Seniors first cup final of the season was against the Civil Service in the London Financial Football Junior Cup. We lost 2 1 after a good start and a goal from Mihai Tomulescu. We conceded a silly penalty just before half time. Civil services experience shone through in the 2nd half as they got there 2nd goal. Great game.
