About the Club
The Warren Junior Football Club
was founded in July 2001
The Club was founded by a group of parents who believe
that children and adults flourish best in an ordered and safe environment in
which everyone knows what is expected of them. The environment will be free from
any form of harassment, intimidation, bullying, victimisation or discrimination.
All members of the Club are to be treated openly and
fairly with dignity and respect. Parents have the right to take responsibility
for and become involved in the running of the Club and all its associated
activities.
The Club is to be run in an honest and transparent manner.
The Club aims for the children to learn the skills of
football in a fun and enjoyable environment and develop and understand the
values of team spirit, correct attitude and good sportsmanship above the need to
win. We aim to work towards a situation in which children can develop
self-discipline and self-esteem in an atmosphere of mutual respect and
encouragement.
Also the aim is for all active Coaches to hold a
recognised FA qualification or working towards becoming qualified.
ALL people
working in a role with children in the club are required to undergo an enhanced
Criminal Record Bureau check.
The Club is
supported by The Metropolitan Police (Hayes) Social Club. We used to play at The
Warren Sports and Social Club. However, as the Club grew in size, we moved
to The Warren Sports Club Annex, St. Dunstan’s Lane, Wickham Way, Beckenham,
Kent. This is an exciting development opportunity as the Club prospers and now
has available its own mini-soccer, 9 a-side and 11 a-side pitches and a Club
House. The football Club is delighted and very privileged to have such
prestigious and excellent facilities available to it.
The Club is
affiliated to the London Football Association. It currently arranges competitive
football within the Tandridge Junior Football League and training sessions for
both competitive and non-competitive players.
Each season The Club has built on the solid foundations
laid, adding one side each season. We therefore approach our eighth season by
entering 7 sides to play competitive football - Under 18, 16, 14 and 13 to
play 11 a-side; under 12 and 11 to play 9 a-side and under 9s playing
mini-soccer.
We also have a FA
qualified coach to take training for 5-8 year olds on Saturday morning.
The Club is proud of the fact that we were awarded the
FA Charter Standard in October 2002 and in 2006 retained the Standard for a
further three years. This was achieved through the hard work of the Committee,
the parents and the players, who demonstrated a commitment to raising standards
and to best practice.
